We had waited 3 long years for more children and our prayers were finally answered in october 2006
when we were told we were expecting twins following our second attempt @ IUI!. We were all so
excited and in disbelief although I had always joked that we would have twins- one in pink and one
in blue!
But our dreams were shattered in February 2007 when I suffered a membrane rupture on twin one @ 20+4
wks and told that there was only a 20% chance of survival. I had to stay in hospital until I went
into labour on a head down tilt and we hoped and prayed everyday that everything would be ok. At our
22+5 week scan we were told that we were having a boy and a girl and we were delighted, my
prediction was right. Surely we couldn't lose them now, this was never in the plan!
As the days went by we gradually began to get our hopes up that indeed everything would be ok. But
sadly on March 8th our precious twins were born @ 24+6 weeks.
Our beautiful sweet angel Emily Beth Morris weighed 1lb 10oz and she was just perfect. She looked
just like her Daddy! She lived for 12 1/2 hrs and sadly died in my arms due to lung immaturity.
Our special star Ethan Thomas Grant Morris also weighed 1lb 10oz and he lived for 1 month & 1
day but sadly lost his fight for life on 9th April 2007 due to Necrotising Enterocolitis which
premature babies can develop. He was such a wee fighter until the end and he too died in my arms.
We love our precious twins and they are missed so much by all our friends and family especially
their big brother Bradley who had waited so patiently to be a big brother.
We would like to thank our friends and colleagues @ Wishaw General Hospital NNU who cared so
lovingly for our precious twins we willl never forget your kindness. Thanks so much to all of you!

If our children were Easter eggs
Hidden safely in the grass
We could search for them and pick them up
And hold them within our clasp
We'd have a heavenly Easter egg hunt
All with baskets in our hands
Searching with a broken heart

'Oh look I've found your child over here'

They are all so beautifully coloured
As they sparkle and shine
These aren't your usual Easter eggs
They each have thier own special glow
That comes from way down deep within
Only a grieving parent would know
We gather up our special eggs
With excitement all around
For the gifts that we have been given
For the treasures we have found
We all stare with wonderment
At our children that have died
We want to hold them once again
And release them from inside
But we all begin to realize
We have to crack their beautiful shell
The one that makes them sparkle and glow
The one they have earned so well
We know we can't destroy thier beauty
And take them from their place
So we give them an understanding kiss
As a tear runs down our face
One by one we take our baskets
With our beautiful coloured eggs
And place them gently in the grass
As we turn and walk away
We look back in amazement
As our eggs begin to sing
We see them flutter and move about
'Look our eggs all now have wings'
Then the Golden egg begins to speak ....
'Your children are safe with me
You'll be with them when the time is right
Together for eternity'
We stand there in a circle of love
As we look up to the sky
Watching our radiant eggs take flight
Knowing our children didnt die

My computer has been broken so i've been unable to leave any candles or tributes lately. (thats why my cousien left the birthday tribute for me) I thought of Emily, Ethan and your family all weekend and hope that brings some comfort to know i'm sure i'm one of many people who thought of your darlings on their first birthdays. Nothing seems right to say such as 'hope it went ok' as i've yet to have Ben's 1st birthday and the run-up to it is hard enough, so i'll just send my love to you all. Take care, Kim xxx

I just want to say thankyou fot the candles you have lit on Hannahs site , it means such a lot. I was moved to tears when i read your beautiful tribute to Emily and Ethan, it was right from your heart and that came across right from the beginning.They are both so beautiful ! you must be soooooo proud of them and i want to thankyou for sharing those precious photos.
Your son Bradley is so lucky to have a lovely mum and dad like you and im sure he would have been such a wonderful big brother, you can just tell that from looking at the photos,so protective!
I wont say i understand how you feel Karen because i dont really do i? i lost my baby at twelve weeks its so different the pain you must feel must be so hard to deal with, but i do know that i can send you my love and hope that you can continue to be so brave and dignified as you do so much in what you write from the bottom of your heart.
I bet they all had a lovely time at your angels party in fancy dress! lots of cream cakes, chocolate and marshmellows and i thankyou for inviting my Hannah and taking the time to aknowledge the fact that my Hannah is also a little angel it means so much , thankyou .

Ethan you are our very special little star. You were so brave when you were born. I just wish you could have stayed with us forever. We have made up your gold star again for bravery! I hope you like it sweetheart. Help Emily catch the balloons too.
